The Rant

If you missed the old Kanye, don’t worry; Ye’s back ranting on Instagram again.  On September 1st, the rapper posted many screenshots of messages between him and Kim Kardashian, his children’s mother, regarding where their children are going to school on his account. The Instagram posts were deleted within a couple of hours, but he came back the next day letting everybody know he will not back down. He then went on making many other posts, some even bashing The Gap, Adidas, and other businesses. He also mentioned Pete Davidson, Kid Cudi, Daniel Cherry, and multiple adidas employees.

Throughout all of the bashing and anger towards (what seems like) the world, Kanye also posted his opinions on some of his favorite music.

1. Church Girl

First, Kanye tells his followers that “Church Girl” from Beyoncé’s recent album “Renaissance,” is his favorite from the album.

Beyoncé’s album “Renaissance” was very successful and still is. Currently, it is number 3 on Apple Music. It’s single “Break My Soul” topped Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts. In addition, it’s topped charts in Croatia, Ireland, and Israel. The album was released on July 29th, 2022.

2. God Did

Next up, Kanye gives his opinion on his song of the year. He gives the crown to “God Did,” from DJ Khaled’s new album “God Did.” The song features artists Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, John Legend, and Friday.

“God Did” released on August 26th, 2022, and features many artists such as Drake, Juice Wrld, Eminem, Future, SZA, and even Kanye himself in the song “Use This Gospel.” DJ Khaled announced the album on August 24th, as well as the track list of over 30 artists.

Second to “God Did,” according to Kanye, is “Wait For U” by Future, Drake, and Tems from Future’s 2022 album, “I Never Liked You.” “Wait For U” took the world by storm when it first came out; after a week, the stream number went up to a whopping 40.2 million streams according to Billboard.

3. Essence

Next on the list, Kanye posts the song “Essence” by Wizkid featuring Tems. The rapper tells his followers that “Essence” is the “Best song in the history of music to date.”

The album “Made in Lagos” released October 30th, 2020 and was Wizkid’s 4th studio album. It features artists Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, and more. Less than a year after the afrobeats album released, it hit one billion streams.

The song “Essence” itself hit one billion streams in October 2021, and won a BET award for best collaboration.

4. Fortunate

Lastly, Kanye shows off his own work with The Game. He conveys that he needs to shoot a video with The Game for the song “Fortunate” with them, Dreezy and CHILLER. The song is from The Game’s album “Drillmatic Heart vs. Mind” and released on August 12, 2022.

Ye tells his fans that him and The Game “have never missed… like literally have never missed.” The duo released another song, “Eazy,” on January 16, 2022, which currently has 12M views on YouTube.

He also mentions him and Pusha T, saying they’ve “never missed” either. Kanye and Pusha have many songs together; one of the most popular ones being Kanye’s song “Runaway”.

Instagram Trolling

Kanye definitely has never had a problem with expressing how he feels on social media. He also seems to enjoy the laughs, as he reposts memes and edited pictures that his fans have been posting whether it’s about Kid Cudi or Kim Kardashian. He’s evidently having fun with his postings, while on the other hand still telling people how he feels about different things, including music.
