A look in music related awards

The Beatles: Get Back (Disney+), is nominated for Outstanding Documentary (series). It is the THIRD Beatles production to receive a nomination! Just like the Beatles’ series, voters gave a nomination also for We Need to Talk About Cosby for being an outstanding documentary or nonfiction series.

Controlling Britney Spears (New York Times Presents) received a nomination for Outstanding Documentary or Non-fiction Special as well.

The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show with rappers Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent is nominated for outstanding variety special (live). Also Adele: One Night Only received a nomination for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).

Moreover, both music contest The Voice and Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls received a nomination for Outstanding competition program.

Nothing like a final nomination

One day before Bennett’s 96th birthday, Tony Bennet was added to the list of Emmy nominations with star Lady Gaga. The duo received a nomination for their work on the CBS concert special One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga. The show aired in 2021.

The duo are now part of the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) list.

The awards celebrate the television programs that went on the air from June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2022. They will broadcast September 12, 2022 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT/5:00-8:00 p.m. PDT) on NBC. For the first time, they will stream live on Peacock as well.
