Calling it “cap,” 21 and Drake didn’t speak on the post for 2 days. But, on October 22nd for 21 Savage‘s 30th birthday, the duo posted the music video for “Jimmy Cooks.” In the video was an announcement for their upcoming album, Her Loss.

Jimmy Cooks

Drake and 21 are a fairly fresh duo. Their first collaboration was in 2016 with the song “Sneakin’.” After a couple of years, in 2021, they came together for the song “Mr. Right Now” from 21 Savage & Metro Boomin’s album Savage Mode II. They then came back together to make “Knife Talk” for Drake’s album Certified Lover Boy. Most recently, the duo skyrocketed with “Jimmy Cooks” from Drake’s album Honestly, Nevermind.

Fans love them together and many people say they are an underrated duo. Individually, the artists have different music styles, but when they come together they know how to mix the two aesthetics. Nobody can guess what kind of vibe Her Loss is going to be. In the “Jimmy Cooks” video, during the announcement is an interlude featuring a woman singing and a chill mix in the end.

Their most recent “Jimmy Cooks” had some pretty good success. The song marked Drake’s 11th Hot 100 No. 1 hit, and 21 Savage’s second. The song racked up 42.2 million streams, three million radio airplay audience impressions and 6,000 downloads sold in its first week, according to Billboard.

21 and Drizzy

Recently on October 19th, 21 brought the “Falling Back” artist on stage at the Morehouse-Spelman homecoming concert in Atlanta.

The pair are really good friends. In an interview with GQ, 21 even expressed that although he doesn’t necessarily look up to anyone in the rap game, but that Drake was the closest thing he had to a mentor. “He did a lot of shit he didn’t have to do. He do a lot of shit for up-and-coming rappers, period. I don’t think he get his respect for that. Every fuckin’ year, he pull a new artist up. Ain’t no other artist on his level do that shit.” The brotherly love is real!

Her Loss release date has moved to Friday, November 4th. Fans (including me) are eager to hear it and see what they’ve been cooking up!
