Doja Cat Enters A New Era With The Scarlet Tour

Shortly after Doja Cat reintroduced herself with last month’s comeback single “Attention,” she announced The Scarlet Tour. This marks her first headlining tour since The Amala Tour back in 2019. The North American arena tour celebrates female starpower with rappers Ice Spice and Doechii.

As a matter of fact, The Scarlet Tour begins on Halloween, October 31, at San Francisco’s Chase Center before hitting cities Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego. The Fall tour comes to a halt on December 13 at Chicago’s United Center.

To avoid bots in the ticket purchasing process, The Scarlet Tour implements advance registration to ensure tickets reach fans. Doja Cat fans were given a short window of time to register concluding on June 25. Then, they were randomly selected to receive a code granting them access to the pre-sales that began Wednesday, June 28. The general on-sale started on Friday, June 30 with only a limited number of tickets. To purchase tickets click here.

Special Guests Doechii And Ice Spice

Shortly after Doja Cat reintroduced herself with last month's comeback single “Attention,” she announced The Scarlet Tour.

The Scarlet Tour guests Doechii and Ice Spice have been making waves with their own respective rap lanes, both getting a taste of virality in 2023. Doechii’s TLC-sampled “What It Is” had its breakthrough on TikTok causing a steady climb atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. For the chart week ending July 1, 2023, the song reached a new peak of No. 57. SZA hopped on the hip house track “Persuasive” last year and as of now the collaboration has over 26M times on Spotify. The Scarlet Tour gives Doechii the chance to display her undeniable talent.

Ice Spice became a household name within less than a year of her initial claim to musical fame “Munch.” The haters called her a “one hit wonder” but much to their surprise, she is only growing in popularity. Additionally, two major league artists Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj took Ice under their wing. The Nicki Minaj protégé has more top five Billboard Hot 100 hits than any artist in 2023. She scored two collaborations with Minaj, a feature on Swift’s remix of “Karma,” and an invite to the Met Gala within less than a year of her debut.

There has been online conversation about her rapid mainstream success and princess treatment in the industry which can largely be attributed to colorism. We have not seen this implausible rise to fame occur for other dark skin female rappers. While Ice sure knows how to formulate a hit, dark skin female rappers like Little Simz, Doechii, Tierra Whack, Chika, Omeretta, Flo Milli and so many more are far more advanced musically. They are versatile, unique and talented lyrical rappers. New York Times crowned Ice Spice “The New Princess Of Rap” which is yet another example of blatant colorism, especially in hip hop.

What We Know About Doja’s Alter Ego “Scarlet”

For the new era Doja Cat unveiled her alter ego “Scarlet” appearing in the “Attention” music video. Scarlet is naked and covered in blood from head to toe. Doja first teased the new character via Twitter tweeting “scarlet” and “scarlet was here.” We can expect to learn more about the mysterious character in The Scarlet Tour.
