Diplo Joins Virtual Music Festival Georgia Comes Alive!

Diplo has joined the line-up for Georgia Comes Alive!, a one-day virtual music festival featuring 50 music artists. The event is taking place on December 26th to get out the vote in the upcoming runoff elections.

Diplo is best known for his dancehall project Major Lazer. Other listeners might know him from his supergroups with Sia, Skrillex, and Mark Ronson. But new listeners in 2020 will know the musician and producer as the king of country collabs. Back in May, he put out hits with rising country music stars Morgen Wallen and Orville Peck. The collabs were tracks for his latest album, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil.

After releasing Snake Oil, it befits Diplo to support a good cause in a country-music hotspot. Of course, he won’t be performing in Georgia. But he’s sure to get a warm welcome from his fans there once he returns to the Peach State.

Meanwhile, actual country and folk acts will be performing at the event. In addition, other major acts in the lineup include Foo Fighters, Taylor Goldsmith (DAWES), Dave Matthews Band, Grouplove, Portugal. The Man, and Bob Weir.

Fans can access the virtual festival by donating on GeorgiaComesAlive.com. Moreover, your donations support the work of local grassroots organizations Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda and CivicGeorgia. The event is also being supported with the help of voter’s rights non-profit Headcount Org and music media company Live for Live Music.
