You may not know her, but you’ve certainly heard of her influence before.
Brittany Marie Amaradio, musically known as Delacey, is an American singer-songwriter. Delacey was part of the writing process for songs such as The Chainsmokers’ “New York City,” Demi Lovato’s “Ruin the Friendship” and Halsey’s “Without Me,” Delacey finally drops her long awaited new album, The Girl Has A Dream.
The Girl Has A Dream
Starting this year with the single “Man On The Moon,” Delacey paved the way to the publication of her sophomore album this January. “One Mississippi,” “The End” and final “Things I’d Save In A Fire” later came to anticipate the long awaited album.
The artist went on her social media to comment on release. “In a lucid dream right now presenting you my sophomore album,” she started. “The album is named “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘏𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮” in honor of the little girl in me I’m always trying to get back in touch with. The one who had endless dreams and no fear.”
The private experience of returning to the young version of herself turns into a poetic, personal journey in music form. Mystical, magical and beautiful, Delacey has the honest elegance and strength of a fairy, the voice of a lion and a pureness that defines her work.
The album deals with a multitude of different topics. All of these fused in the theme of self love, self improvement and making your young self proud and happy.
“The End,” for example, deals with the singer’s relationship with New York City. Talking to The Honey Pop Delacey said that she “was inspired by my on-and-off-again relationship with NYC.” “I’m glad people are connecting with it,” she added.
In particular, the singer finds a strong link to the song “everything you need to know about me today.”
“Probably ‘everything you need to know about me today.’” She said: “It is the most vulnerable and genuine song I’ve ever written. I wrote it all by myself and recorded it myself.”
