The Chainsmokers and Shenseea Release “My Bad”

On Friday July 28th, EDM group the Chainsmokers and Jamaican singer Shenseea released their new single “My Bad.” Outlining a heartbreak in a relationship, the catchy lyrics and beat are just enough to get listeners singing along. The new song was first teased back earlier in July and will add to Sensheea’s growing list of international collaborations. Making her presence on the international music scene not to be ignored. The track will appear on the Chainsmokers fifth studio album releasing later this year. It also joins the list of the group’s 2023 releases, following “See You Again,” “Self-Destruction Mode” and “Up and Down.”

Commenting on the release, the group told social media per PM Studio, “The cursed song is finally out. By cursed I mean this is one of those records you write and immediately fall in love with. Then you spend a year cutting amazing singers again and again until you finally find the right fit. God bless Shenseea for bringing more life to this song.”

Given the Chainsmokers popularity, Shenseea on the other hand has soared on the international stage. Her collaborations with Calvin Harris and Charlie Puth put her on her first top UK singles chart. She also got on the US Afrobeats Song chart for “Diana” with Fireboy DML and Chris Brown as well as “Slip and Slide” with Wizkid and Skillibeng. She has also worked with artists such as Kanye West and Roddy Rich. Collaborations that earned her a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The same year she received the MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act. Most recently she teamed up with Myke Towers to release “Infamous,” an addition to the soundtrack of Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse.

With both artists working on their latest albums, for Shenessa her debut album, hopefully their new song can become another summer hit.
