CXLOE Has a “New Trick”

Rising Australian singer-songwriter CXLOE shared her latest single, the electrifying “New Trick.”

CXLOE: The Dark-Pop Artist You Need to Know

“New Trick” arrives as CXLOE’s fourth single of the year. It follows up on October’s “Close,” and August’s “Soft Rock.” Both singles now surpass 300,000 streams on Spotify, showing that the artist is getting recognition.

The new track is a dark-pop anthem that takes us to a whole different dimension. The lyrics show that CXLOE is a strong woman who knows what she wants and how to get it, and the video showcases a beautiful dance choreography to go along with it. Accompanied by professional dancers, they show what they can do while being in the desert. It was filmed in the sands of Cronulla, a beachside suburb in New South Wales, Australia.

In an Instagram post showing her gratitude, CXLOE posted, “I can’t put into words my love for these humans *hang in there while I try*. They are the music video. They are ‘New Trick’ personified. This song would be nothing without them. Their confidence, passion, and commitment are everything I wanted this song to embody. The sonics are only one part, visually I wanted it to be as important. I hope you feel confident and special and safe listening/dancing to this song. Caetlyn, Jake, Blake, Lorcan, and Jeremy thank you for bringing this to life. My favorite music video ever.”

She Embraces Confidence on “New Trick”

“New Trick” was co-written with an array of Aussie singer-songwriter talent, including Xavier Dunn – who is also the producer – Jess Kent, Charley, Georgia Denton, and Rory Adams. CXLOE spoke about the song’s inspiration in a press release. “‘New Trick’ is all about newfound, unapologetic confidence. Unfortunately, we often find ourselves in situations where we are suppressing feelings and hiding in fear of being persecuted. The song talks about finally letting go of that fear and embracing confidence and individuality. Often, this brave trait doesn’t come naturally to most people, so when it does, it only feels best to describe it as a ‘New Trick.’”
