Casey Bishop Drops “Don’t Talk!” & Announces EP

American Idol star, and singer-songwriter Casey Bishop released her new song “Don’t Talk!” and announced a self-titled EP coming soon.

Casey Stole our Hearts on American Idol

It wasn’t that long since we first saw Casey live on our televisions when she was auditioning for the popular show American Idol. It was only last year! That’s right, the now 17-year-old rising artist auditioned for the talent show when she was only 15, and thanks to her voice and amazing talents, she ended up in fourth place.

Fast forward to a year later, and Casey is now announcing that she will be releasing a self-titled EP on September 28. It’s produced by Chris Greatti (Yungblud, Poppy), and will arrive via 19 Recordings/BMG.

The EP will have a total of 6 songs, which will be all infused with her classic alternative pop sound combined with pop-rock. Earlier this year, she released the track “Bad Dream,” so we will have to wait and see if it will form part of the project as well.

“Don’t Talk!” Was Co-Written With Willow Smith

For now, “Don’t Talk!” is the lead single off the EP. Casey co-wrote the song alongside no other than Willow Smith, a punk-rock queen herself. With this combination, it comes as no surprise that the single is full of mouth-opening lyrics and melodies.

“I was in the session talking about how you can meet a guy who’s sooo good looking but they just constantly say the wrong things,” Casey shares about her writing session with Willow. “We were joking and throwing out examples of those moments when out of the blue, Willow busts out with the words ‘don’t talk’ in that insane melody riff that became the main punch of the record. It was perfect and set the tone for the song. The final version of this recording is just so fun. We wanted a happy, upbeat, fun song and that’s exactly what ‘Don’t Talk!’ is.”

So, mark your calendars! Casey’s debut EP is out on September 28.
