Rapper Bryce Vine released his newest single “y can’t we b friends?” following on March’s “American Dream.”
Bryce Demonstrates His Music Versatility
Bryce Vine is back with a new single, getting us ready for the summer. As always, he delivered a perfect mixture of hip hop, dance, and pop, making “y can’t we b friends?” a danceable, relatable, and uplifting track.
Back in March, Bryce surprised many by releasing the pop-punk tune “American Dream,” demonstrating, once again, that he knows no limits when it comes to trying different genres in his music. Now, he’s switching his sound one more time to give us “y can’t we b friends?”
“y can’t we b friends?” arrives via Warner Records. Co-produced by One Love [Madison Beer, Tate McRae, Quinn XCII], Sweater Beats [Lizzo, Panic! At The Disco, Hayley Kiyoko], and Bumbasee, the track talks about being over dealing with any drama in his life and instead, opting for cutting toxic people off his life.
“y can’t we b friends?” is Dedicated to WAR
The song title might make you think about the WAR classic “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and well, it is actually a new version of it with a modern twist! About the single, Bryce shared, “The hook for WAR’s ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends?’ is so iconic that it works in any style, but it took on a new meaning for me last year. I tried mushrooms for the first time in Joshua Tree and wrote and recorded this whole song in one night with my buddy JP Clark. During that evening, my phone dinged, and a message from my mysterious cyber stalker flickered on my screen reading ‘hi friend.’ The song is now dedicated to them.”
He’s Playing Limited Shows This Summer
Bryce recently finished his headlining North American tour that took place this spring. Nevertheless, he will perform on June 19 at The Paramount in Huntington, NY, making up for a previous date that had to be rescheduled. After that, he will make an appearance at Breakaway Festival in Kansas City, MO, on August 6. For more information and tickets, click here.
