New Road, New Album

Black Country, New Road returns with their sophomore album “Ants From Up There.” This comes just shy of a year after their first album, “For The First Time.” The new album consists of 10 songs, all of which feature BCNR’s signature, homegrown, and percussive sound. It’s 59 minutes of music triumphs, and fans seem to be loving it so far, with many of them leaving 10/10 reviews on Tik Tok.

Tik Tok Success

After a snippet of the bands music video for the album’s most popular song “Concorde” was put out on Tik Tok, the band was greeted by a surge of new listeners. The video features captivating videography and storyline. This, mixed with the powerful music, has attracted a lot of new listeners.

Departure

Much like the ending of this music video, BCNR experienced a departure within itself. Shortly before the release of their new album, lead vocalist and front man Isaac Wood left the band. In an interview with New York Times, Woods hinted at potential mental health struggles that led to this decision.

“I have been feeling sad and afraid too. I have tried to make this not true but it is the kind of sad and afraid feeling that makes it hard to play guitar and sing at the same time.”

This departure led the band to make the decision to cancel their scheduled tour. The remaining members have also decided not to perform any songs collaborated with Wood, but have reportedly already started making new music.

The use of genre-bending and big band style has attracted listeners of all types, and they continue to grow their fan base.
