Billie Eilish Seems “Happier Than Ever” About New Album

Billie Eilish has finally announced the release of an upcoming album, something the world has patiently waited for. The star’s reign as the alternative pop princess of the 21st century has been extensive. Keeping that in mind, we’re expecting not only to love this new album, but see if it breaks yet another slew of records.

What We Know So Far About Happier Than Ever

Everything Billie Eilish does is a viral moment at this point. She wins an award, it trends online. If she dyes her hair – which she did – she breaks a record on Instagram. Yet, she’s an artist at heart, which means that her most exciting moment as of late is the announcement of her upcoming record.

Billie Eilish‘s second LP is on its way. The star announced the title, artwork, release day, and tracklist for the world to prepare themselves for. (Because if we know Billie Eilish, and we do, her work is astronomically emotive and outstandingly prolific. Preparing ourselves mentally and emotionally for this new music is something we are sure to start doing soon.)

The record is set to release on July 30 via Darkroom, a subgroup of Interscope Records. Interscope has a roster that spans various genres and eras, but is consistently working with relevant, modern chart-toppers. As of late, Interscope has released Olivia Rodrigo‘s debut singles, Selena Gomez’s is new Spanish language EP, and Machine Gun Kelly‘s earth-shattering collaboration with Corpse. Now, yet another Billie Eilish record is dropping under them.

Between Billie Eilish herself and Interscope, there are a handful of notable aspects of this album that fans are talking about. The first, is, without a doubt, the title. This album is called Happier Than Ever.

While that might seem a bit vague, the world has gotten to know Billie Eilish for her prominently melancholy music. Just the fact that she tilted her album Happier Than Ever makes people believe that she is in the best, most content place in her life. We can only hope that that’s true and that this new music played a role in that.

As well, fans were blessed to get a glimpse of the album artwork. The stunning cover for this sophomore record features Billie Eilish front and center. She has graced the cover of much of her catalog so far, but this record has a different vibe to it – at least visually. First and foremost, Billie Eilish is sporting her latest look. This one is her ‘blonde bombshell’ look according to the media – and we have to agree. The young star stuns in a 1970s shag hairstyle with platinum roots and perfect bangs. Her light hair matches with her ocean eyes, pun intended, and makes for a museum-worthy shot.

One thing fans are nitpicking about this cover is the single tear dripping from her blue eye. People are speculating that it’s a happy tear, given the title of this record, but we are yet to be sure.

New Billie Eilish Music Is On It’s Way!

What’s most exciting, if it wasn’t all of that, is the tracklist. Whenever a new album gets announced, fans begin to piece together what’s to expect. Knowing that the album is to feature 16 songs is one thing, but knowing each of their titles? This is a spectacular piece of insight into what this album means and the message it could tell.

Two of this album’s songs are already in the hands of adoring fans. “My future” and “Therefore I Am” take their respective places on this new upcoming album. The other 14 songs are up for interpretation until Happier Than Ever‘s July 30 release. (Although, the star did tease in the announcement that another single is dropping ahead of the album on April 29!)

One song, “Billie Bossa Nova,” makes people think that there is a Latin-based dance song coming from the alternative performer. That’s just one of the 14 that people are beginning to think about and prepare themselves to listen to… and presumably fall in love with. The following is the official tracklist for Billie Eilish‘s second record, Happier Than Ever, out this summer from Interscope records:

  1. Getting Older
  2. I Didn’t Change My Number
  3. Billie Bossa Nova
  4. my future
  5. Oxytocin
  6. GOLDWING
  7. Lost Cause
  8. Halley’s Comet
  9. Not My Responsibility
  10. OverHeated
  11. Everybody Dies
  12. Your Power
  13. NDA
  14. Therefore I Am
  15. Happier Than Ever
  16. Male Fantasy

Billie Eilish Makes Bedroom Pop – Literally

It’s hard to believe that the release of Happier Than Ever will only be the singer-songwriter’s second album. Billie Eilish has quickly become so much more than a household name. She is a chart-topper and a record-breaker, solidifying her place in the industry by winning awards and tackling the biggest stages.

Happier Than Ever comes two-and-a-half years after her debut record, which is a multi-Grammy winning piece of music. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was a labor of love between Eilish and her brother, Finneas

Finneas is a critically acclaimed producer and musician, as well as the most constant collaborator for the Billie Eilish brand. Together, from their childhood bedroom to across the globe, the siblings made history with that debut album.

Although Eilish has moved to a new house and Finneas has moved out, the magic is sure to still be there. The Eilish creativity was not down to that one bedroom, as seen in her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry. The pair recorded the Grammy-nominated James Bond theme song in a tour bus bunk. Miss Eilish creates her music videos from drawings in her journal. It might be a new beginning for Billie Eilish and the music she creates, but the only way is up with her art.

Coming Soon From “Happier Than Ever”

Hit after hit, look after look, award after award, Billie Eilish has come back better and more deserving than ever. Regardless of having a brand new bedroom to make music in, her beloved vulnerable and authentic qualities are sure to be ever prevalent on this new record.

On Instagram, the popstar shared just how passionate she is about this record. Although all of her previous work has been loved by fans and critics alike, this new album seems to have been the most rewarding. In her own words, she writes, “this is my favorite thing i’ve ever created and i am so excited and nervous and EAGER for you to hear it. i can’t even tell you. i’ve never felt so much love for a project than i do for this one. hope you feel what i feel.”

Happier Than Ever is out July 30 and can be streamed everywhere then. It is also for physical purchase, such as on CD and vinyl, on her website.
