Young Nudy Teams Back Up With Pi’erre Bourne For Collab Album Sequel

Quietly, Young Nudy is on one of the most consistent runs in modern hip-hop. After breaking out in the Atlanta scene (thanks in no small part to an early co-sign and feature spot from fellow Atlantean and blood cousin 21 Savage), he continues to apply pressure with metronome-like full-lengths, notching yearly editions stretching from his 2016 debut, SlimeBall, through last year’s standout, Gumbo. A two-pack of singles, “Right Now” and “Get Fu*ked Up,” just hit streaming platforms as Young Nudy shapes up for another project. Here’s everything you need to know about that impending album and the two singles that precede it.

Young Nudy and Pi’erre Bourne Recapture Early Career Energy

A still of Young Nudy posted shortly before "Right Now" with Pi'erre Bourne was released. Taken from @youngnudy on Instagram.

Look to the credits on either of these songs for their biggest piece of intrigue: Pi’erre Bourne handled production on both, no surprise given the upcoming LP is a sequel to Sli’merre, the duo’s collaborative project from back in 2019. While major collabs weren’t foreign to Young Nudy by that point, the album birthed some of his biggest to that point, including “Extendo” with Lil Uzi Vert and “Shotta” with Megan thee Stallion.

Of the new material, “Right Now” arrived first, serving as an indication that either artist is still in peak form. Pi’erre utilizes his trademark video game-like synths to great effect, providing a bouncy, energetic counterpoint to the droll menace that defines Young Nudy’s delivery. To that end, the Atlanta MC may not spawn many quotables or standout lines in his verse, but he capitalizes on the appeal he held throughout this modern run: extremely dependable flows, never falling out of pocket or out of groove through another head-bobbing anthem. “Get Fu*ked Up” is more of the same, but Young Nudy injects a bit more narrative spin into its DNA. It follows in the footsteps of “Portabello” from Gumbo, a drug-fueled track where those same bonafides shine through once again.

There isn’t much of a layoff between these two new tracks and the final product; Sli’merre 2 lands on November 15th. Catch a preview of what Young Nudy and Pi’erre Bourne have in store via the two new singles, which you can find now wherever you stream your music
