Jacob Collier Recruits Lizzy McAlpine & John Mayer For “Never Gonna Be Alone”

English musician Jacob Collier recruited fellow artists Lizzy McAlpine and John Mayer for their new single “Never Gonna Be Alone.”

Jacob, Lizzy, and John Unite on “Never Gonna Be Alone”

Jacob Collier is back! “Never Gonna Be Alone” arrives as the singer’s first official single his last 2020 album Djesse Vol. 3, which earned three nominations at the 2021 GRAMMY® Awards, including Album of the Year and Best R&B Performance. Nevertheless, he was featured in Lizzy’s 2021’s single “erase me,” making this song their second collaboration.

On “Never Gonna Be Alone,” Jacob and Lizzy mix up their vocals beautifully, while John Mayer accompanies them on the guitar. The three of them co-wrote the song together as well.

Jacob shared, “Here’s a song I wrote last year, in the depths of lockdown, with my dear friend Lizzy McAlpine. I wanted to explore the deep, vivid emotional world of isolation, loss and memory, blurring the lines between reality and imagination, by piecing together a tapestry of soft orchestral sounds. It speaks to my experience of the world as a hugely beautiful and fragile place, and has helped me process some of the grief I think we’re all feeling for our pasts and futures, in a myriad of different ways.”

He’s Touring the UK and Europe This Summer

Despite this being his first new song of the year, Collier has been very busy. He just completed the North American run of his biggest tour yet; which went on for nearly 40 dates across April and May. Now, he’s headed to the UK for a set of shows in Gateshead, Glasgow, and Cambridge before the UK run culminates in two sold-out nights at the 5000-capacity Brixton Academy in London. After that, the tour will continue across Europe. For more information and tickets, click here. Check out the full list of dates down below!
