Brazilian pop star Anitta signed a global deal with Sony Music Publishing to help the star reach a larger global audience.
Anitta Signs With Sony Music Ahead of Fifth Album
The Brazilian singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress had a major US breakthrough in 2021 with “Girl From Rio.” Now that her upcoming album which shares the title Girl From Rio is coming out this year, it was just the right time for the global deal to take place.
The “Furiosa” star shared, “I’m excited to join the Sony Music Publishing family. I can’t wait to continue sharing my music on a global scale. I look forward to what this new partnership will bring!”

There’s Nothing This Trilingual Star Can’t Do
Anitta has been preparing for the release of her highly anticipated fifth album. She has been working with Max Martin and Ryan Tedder; and has teased the release with the singles “Envolver,” “Faking Love” featuring Saweetie; and “Me Gusta” featuring Cardi B and Myke Towers.
On what fans can expect, she said in a recent interview: “We’re going to have a lot of funk [throughout the upcoming album]. It’s the rhythm I was born with.” The album will be the follow-up to 2019’s Kisses, which included songs in three different languages – Portuguese, Spanish, and English. It’s clear that there are no limits for the star and she is ready to keep exploring different paths.
Anitta recently performed “Girl From Rio” and “Envolver” during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on NBC. She also made history in September 2021 as the first Brazilian artist to perform at the MTV VMAs.
