Yeule’s Raw “Don’t Be So Hard On Your Own Beauty”

Yeule’s new era is in full swing

Single Cover For DBSHOYOB - yueleThe ever ambient Yeule has released a very intimate single titled Don’t Be So Hard on Your Own Beauty.  The London-based artist dropped the track as the third single from her sophomore album Glitch Princess.  This new era comes after her 2019 debut album Serotonin II.

Her first album brought hits like the soft-glitch Pretty Bones, the transcendent Pixel Affection and many other ethereal tracks to which the genre of her music speaks so well to.  Now, after previously releasing two singles from her next album; Hi My Name is Nat Ćmiel, and the nearly 5 hour long The Things They Did For Me Out of Love the artist has returned with her most personal track to date.

The new emotionally charged single

On Don’t Be So Hard on You Own Beauty, Yeule strips everything back.  An acoustic guitar guides the singer as she floats through verse after chorus.  The song, co-produced with Kin Leonn, is very linear with very few changes sonically.  However, the push-through-it style of the song perfectly crescendos at the end.  Yeule’s delivery of the track makes for a very emotional listen.  The 3:12 track feels like one big emotional breakdown about realizing someone truly has love for you with clarity coming at the end.  Lyrics like “Fall again, you pick up all my guts spilling out, bruised up, bloodied up” portray just how important this person has been for Yeule.  It’s poetic in a Grimes meets Lana type of way, and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Additionally, Yeule has released a music video to give a visual for the emotion she exudes on the track.  The pink and blurry video is directed by Joy Song and is a masterpiece in itself.  You see Yeule dancing in complete reverse for the duration of the video requiring her to learn the whole song backwards.  It shows that the creativity Yeule has is very intentional and special.  The artist’s new album Glitch Princess is expected for 2022 and will feature her new single Don’t Be So Hard on Your Own Beauty.  Keep up with Yeule on Instagram at @yeule and Twitter at @yeul_e
