Virtual Artist APOKI Shares Her Debut Album “Earth Space Time”

Afun Interactive initially debuted APOKI as a virtual celebrity in 2019 before pursuing music in 2021.

APOKI does it all as Korea’s most renowned virtual artist: attends Burberry shows, does dance challenges with K-pop girl group Busters, and, most importantly, puts out perfect pop music. Her new debut album, Earth Space Time, is a colorful journey with sweet-and-sour collaborations from Lil Cherry, E-40 and more.

The Korean vocaloid curates her iconic-ness across one-of-a-kind concepts, music and performances that only she can pull off. APOKI is establishing herself as an unrivaled iconic figure. She currently sits above 1.7 million fans across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and constantly amazes them with her spectacular musical talents.

Created by Afun Interactive in South Korea, APOKI debuted as a virtual celebrity in 2019. However, with help from Sony Music Japan, she began her music career with 2021’s “Get It Out” under VV Entertainment.

Earth Space Time really begins at “Space.” Its electropop genesis sends fragmented pop gems throughout the other ten tracks. The Lil Cherry collaboration, “Shut Up Kiss Me,” shines as the perfectly assembled summer bop that never was. It slides on shimmery synths reminiscent of “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat and SZA.

Where most of the excitement went to the first-half run of the album, “Hashtaggg” is the last epic moment before the cool-tempered “Coming Back.” The synths beautifully softened in anticipation for “Fuyu No Sakura (Winter Blossom)” with guitarist Kotaro Oshio.

“This April I collaborated with Girls² on ‘Countdown feat. APOKI,’ which reached a whole new group of fans,” APOKI told Billboard. “Since releasing ‘Hold On,’ I can tell that the number of Japanese APOKI fans is on the rise.”
