Taylor Swift, Pharrell, and Steve Aoki are set to speak at the 2022 Tribeca Festival.
The 2022 Tribeca Festival
The 2022 Tribeca Festival is a massive film festival in New York. Described as an “experience” on their website, this year’s Tribeca Festival will have multiple events for people to attend. The festival will hold screenings of films like The Godfather and Heat, with special appearances from the films’ actors. There will be live performances, like Lil Baby’s at the premiere of Untrapped: The Story Of Lil Baby. Likewise, the festival will have game creators do live game plays of their newest games.
Taylor Swift, Pharrell, and Steve Aoki are all part of the 60-minute Tribeca Talks that the Tribeca Festival is hosting. They will each be speaking about how they create such compelling stories in their art and work.
Storytelling: A Fluid Art Form
For the Tribeca Festival this year, the panelists of the Tribeca Talks have many storytelling hats.
Let’s begin with Taylor Swift. The 11-time Grammy winner is a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, director, and actor. In 2021, Swift released All Too Well: The Short Film, which she wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. At the festival panel, Swift will be joined by screenwriter, filmmaker, graphic designer, and artist Mike Mills. The panel will have a screening of All Too Well: The Short Film and, afterwards, the two will discuss their approaches to filmmaking.
Moving to Pharrell, the recording artist, producer, songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer, and entrepreneur will tell his story at the Tribeca Festival. A 13-time Grammy winner, Pharrell will share the stage with Minya Oh, also known as Miss Info. Oh is a journalist, radio host, podcaster, and cultural commentator. She and Pharrell will talk about what they’re currently working on.
Last, but certainly not least, Steve Aoki. Aoki is an entertainer, designer, philanthropist, producer, music programmer, and entrepreneur. He has over 3 billion music streams to his name. Aoki will have the Tribeca Festival panel all to himself and will talk about how he produces stories and movements that people can’t help but become involved with.
The 2022 Tribeca Festival will begin on June 8th and last until June 19th. Festivalgoers can attend each venue in person, or they can watch the festival from the comfort of their homes. Passes and tickets for either option can be found here.
