Tomorrowland 2023: Behind This Years Biggest EDM Festival

The line up for this year’s Tomorrowland festival was finally announced as of Friday June 2nd. According to EDM.com, “the poster with the line up has more fine print than a car insurance policy.” The number capped to a mere 600 artists, which will make it one of biggest festivals in history. Most of the artist are big EDM names like Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Amelie Lens, Above and Beyond, SVDDEN DEATH, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and Nina Kraviz. Other notable artists include Dom Dolla, Indria Paganotto, Mariana Bo, Anyma, Nora En Pure, Robin Schulz, ACRAZE and Ray Volpe. The festival on the weekends of July 21-23 and 28-30th in Flanders (Boom), Belgium. The theme is Ascendo, which is also the inclusion of the livestream of the festival for pre registered fans.

The festival is one of the biggest EDM Festivals of its age. Founded in 2005 by Manu and Micheal Beers and ID&T, its line of artists was not huge but included big names such as Armin Van Burren, Yves Deurtyer, Technoboy, Cor Fijneman, Yoji Biomehanika and Coone. After the first year, the crowds got bigger and so did the DJ’s. More venues were added since the festival’s mainstage can only hold a certain capacity while so many DJ’s are performing.  There was even an addition of a Tomorrowland Anthem and even a theme of the year. The added elements led to the modern outline of the festival, an event with multiple stages and venues for fans. Creating one massive party over the course of three weekends.

For this year’s festival, 400,000 will be in attendance. The main stage location will be at De Schorre Public Recreational Park. With the addition of new stages, there are 16 other stages that hold performances, each one with a theme of their own. For the catering and accommodations for fans, the village Dreamville holds seven camping areas. These includ basic houses to areas that have lockable suites. Fans can buy packages to stay in these camp areas as well as other hotels in Brussels. A variety of street food is also avaliable with a ton of Belgian specialty foods.

The festival has also won the World’s Best Music Festival, Best International Dance Music Festival, Best Major Festival and so much more. Given the popularity of the festival, there have been multiple spin offs such as Tomorrowland Brazil, Tomorrowland Winter, and TomorrowWorld.
