Taylor Swifts New Version of “Christmas Tree Farm”

Taylor Swift London, England, UK - January 2, 2020Taylor Swift released her new version of the Christmas song Christmas Tree Farm. Singer, songwriter and now director and actress, Taylor Swift is not sparing in showing us her versatility in all the facets of her artistic skills. As a matter of fact, the “Old Timey Version” of the song marks a new impressive goal for the singer. This is because she recently released an album with new singles, including her 10 minute version of All Too Well, and a short movie. Moreover, as we all know she is also  re-recording her pre-2018 albums and singles.

The song

Originally, Swift released the song in December 2019. And, as if that weren’t impressive enough, the song was written in a day and released after four.

Inspired by her Christmas vacation, Christmas Tree Farm is a romantic Christmas song where Swift narrates her love relationship under mistletoe, playing on the snow and sitting near the fire.

The song begins with a 1950s reminiscent violin intro, followed by a short cappella part. Christmas Tree Farm does not lack the typical Christmas bells, the snappy and driving rhythm and the choir harmonies.

Taylor Swift’s Christmas Tree Farm music video

In 2019, Taylor Swift released Christmas Tree Farm official music video alongside the song. The video is a compilation of old videos home videos where a little Taylor Swift plays in the snow and around her decorated tree and illuminated homee. These are, in fact, the singer and her family’s memories from her childhood at their Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, where she grew up.

The clips not only features the singer herself, but also her brother Austin Swift and their parents.

Behind The Scenes of Christmas Tree Farm

Recently, the singer also released a BTS of the song. “This new version is amazing because it feels like it’s that more… Sort of laidback Christmas feel of doing all your shopping and relaxing by a fire,” she said. “Ya know, it’s definitely a little bit more of that old-school Christmas song feel.”
