Summer Walker Making Hits “For A Reason”

This past Friday, the one and only Summer Walker dropped a new single after just announcing exciting news. “Ex For a Reason” is the latest track from the R&B singer and it features also JT from City Girls.

The song itself is a high-paced throwback, with a smooth sample and punchy instrumentals.  Summer Walker takes us back with these skater rink/after school vibes. With stacked vocals and amazing production this single is slowly but surely going to grow on you.

As her first solo single of the year, this is a a great introduction to the new Summer Walker era coming soon. Prior to this new track being released, Walker had a huge announcement a few weeks back after the B.E.T.  Awards.

Summer Walker Is Still Over It

It was recently announced that her upcoming album Still Over It is close to done with the release date in November.

Summer Walker

As the follow-up to her iconic 2019 album Over It, Summer Walker has a lot of fans excited for this new era of music. The Atlanta singer’s debut studio album showcased the aesthetic of her hometown while added some spice to it all. Her ’90s golden-era R&B sound is similar to Mary J. Blige, Xscape, and SWV, but with a makeover perfect for this generation.

The album featured some heavyhitting R&B names as well. From Usher, Drake, Jhené Aiko, and many more, Summer had an A-List tier of the artists behind her. Her breakout single that sent her into mainstream fame was the single “Playing Games feat. Bryson Tiller.”

And now she is back, looking to recreate the magic of 2019. And for fans who have been listening to her music since the mixtape Last Day Of Summer, this drop is long overdue. Other than dropping a brief EP back in early 2020, Summer has been pretty quiet on the music scene.

That is all going to change next month when Summer Walker drops her sophomore album this November. So keep an eye out for more coming next month.
