Summer Walker Is Still Over It With Album Dropping Soon

Earlier this week, the 2019 R&B standout artist Summer Walker is looking to top her previous project next month. It was recently announced that her upcoming album Still Over It is close to done with the release date in November.

Summer Walker

As the follow-up to her iconic 2019 album Over It, Summer Walker has a lot of fans excited for this new era of music. The Atlanta singer’s debut studio album showcased the aesthetic of her hometown while added some spice to it all. Her ’90s golden-era R&B sound is similar to Mary J. Blige, Xscape, and SWV, but with a makeover perfect for this generation.

The album featured some heavyhitting R&B names as well. From Usher, Drake, Jhené Aiko, and many more, Summer had an A-List tier of the artist behind her. Her breakout single that sent her into mainstream fame was the single “Playing Games feat. Bryson Tiller“.

The album debuted and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and is certified platinum. Summer Walker made history when her debut album earned the biggest streaming debut week ever for a female R&B artist.

And now she is back, looking to recreate the magic of 2019. And for fans who have been listening to her music since the mixtape Last Day Of Summerthis drop is long overdue. Other than dropping a brief EP back in early 2020, Summer has been pretty quiet on the music scene. The EP Life on Earth saw some success with the single “White Tee” but for the most part, it went unnoticed by most.

Since then, Summer Walker has only come out with one single in 2021, and it was as a featured artist. Back in February, she collaborated with Young Rog to bring us “Bullsh*t“.

But we should see a new era of great music from the Billboard 2021 Best New R&B Artist very soon. Keep your eyes and ears out for more updates on her new project and upcoming tour dates only on MusicDaily.
