ROSIE Gets Real on “Next Life”

22-year-old singer-songwriter, ROSIE, has released her new single, “Next Life.” It follows the pain and honesty that come with self-acceptance and is a stripped-back ballad of self-love.

ROSIE Evokes Emotions

“Next Life” dropped on March 4th through Arista Records, along with a music video. The single is “a dramatic, piano-driven anthem that captures ROSIE’s difficult journey towards self-love, mental wellness and inner growth. “‘Next Life’ is a complex song for me,” she says. “Though it is painfully heartbreaking, I wanted to add a sense of hope each time the chorus circles back, ‘maybe in my next life I can live my best life.’ This song evokes a wide range of emotions, but I hope that ultimately it sends the message: we’re all just human beings, doing our best to feel our best, whether it is in this life, or in our next life.”

An Important Track

ROSIE gained fame through the release of “Never the 1”, which dropped in 2020 and immediately went viral on TikTok. Vulnerable, painfully real songwriting is a staple of her music and “Next Life” is no different. With lyrics like “What if self-help doesn’t help my self-esteem / Going through hell, tryna fix the worst of me / Sometimes I feel like I’ll feel this forever” it’s easy to see why fans relate to ROSIE. She sings delicately over a piano ballad, and the weight of her words is palpable. This may be her most important single to date.

Watch the Music Video

Just as with the rest of her music, ROSIE pulls no punches in the “Next Life” music video. She sings in dimly lit rooms with two competing outfits and demonstrates the emotions that come with everyday life. You can watch the video below.
