Ahead of its March 6th ceremony, Billboard officially announced its honorees for its Women in Music Awards. The event is a ceremony to demonstrate the degree of how much music is a global enterprise. This year, the honorees include Australia’s Kylie Minogue, England’s Charlie XCX, South Korea’s NewJeans, Nigeria’s Tems, Brazil’s Lusia Sonza and Puerto Rico’s Young Miko. The US honorees include Maren Morris, Ice Spice and Victoria Monét, also nominated for GRAMMY Awards. The list might be short now as additional honorees have yet to be announced.

Commenting on the upcoming ceremony, Billboard’s editorial director, Hannah Karp, told Billboard, “We could not be more excited to celebrate these inspiring and dynamic artists from around the world, as they move our culture forward and inspire women everywhere to push boundaries and pursue their own dreams,” Karp said. “With the talented Tracee Ellis Ross as our host, this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards will be an unforgettable evening.”

With the short list of nominees, NewJeans landed their first album on the Billboard Top 200 last year. Charlie XCX and Ice Spice both had tracks on Barbie: The Album. That album reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200. It also soundtracked the film that became the biggest box office hit of 2023.

As the event’s biggest sponsor is Marriott Bonvoy, members watching the ceremony will have the chance to get exclusive access to the show through Marriott Bonvoy Moments. Those who have accumulated enough travel points can also bid for exclusive red carpet fan experiences. They will also win tickets to the show itself, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any music lover.

The 2024 Women in Music Awards will kick off on March 6th at the YouTube theater in Englewood, California. It will also be available for streaming on March 7th.
