On Friday, September 15th, Zara Larsson and David Guetta united once more to release their new song “On My Love.” A track written for the dance floor, it covers the unconditional love one has for another in any strong relationship. Not to mention, the classic David Guetta beat that plays in the background. Given Zara Larsson’s sister, Hannah, appears in the music video, Larsson goes on to tell People how the song is “about the relationships you have in your life that mean so much to you that you would put everything on them.”
Inspired by Larsson’s family, the music video even opens with a bunch of childhood video footage of the two sisters. Some include introducing each other at a home performance, others include birthday parties, swimming, and family trips. And, who can forget dancing at nightclubs in the most beautiful parts of the world?
The new track marks Larsson’s third song of the year, following “Can’t Tame Her” and “End of Time.” It also follows the release of her third consecutive album Poster Girl, released back in March of this year. Given its popularity, the singer told People how she “felt so pressured into having the album become commercially successful.” She continued, saying, “I was so like, ‘What do people think?’ Now, I’m just going to have fun.”
Even though the last time Larsson and Guetta collaborated was in 2016, the two are glad to be back collaborating again. Their last hit, “This One’s for You,” became a worldwide hit. It reached the number one spot on charts in several countries. They hope to make their new song just as popular as summer comes to an end. “On My Love” is Larsson trying to find the fun in making music again, while Guetta adds another song to his lengthy list of summer hits.
