OG Parker’s Debut Single Includes Chris Brown, Layton Greene, PnB Rock and Latto

The multi-platinum producer OG Parker is finally out with “Rain Down“, his first official single. The track was released on the fourth of June and can count on an incredible variety of names including Chris Brown, Layton Greene, PnB Rock and Latto. Besides, one of these artists (Chris Brown) is a loyal collaborator of the producer. Remember indeed the collaboration on “Type a Way” by the californian star Eric Bellinger. Determined to give a lot of space to his guests, OG Parker chose not an over complex base to stand out the quality of the featurings. Latto and (in particular) Layton Greene gives a plus to the song, but the negative note is for the text. The two ladies are excellents of the female urban panorama, but a voice like Layton’s deserves different contents. Just personal advice.

Chris Brown’s contribution

What sounds particularly good is the alternance between the various verses and Chris Brown’s chorus, everytime with a particular attention to the detail of the melody. Don’t matter what he sings, ’cause every word that comes out to his mouth is incredibly charming. He’s literally born to do this. Last but not least, what deserves a mention is also the performance of PnB Rock. The rapper from Philadelphia is quite multifaceted, but sometimes he’s satisfied by doing the same good things. Clear that he has great rap/vocal skills, but maybe fans would appreciate something more out of his comfort zone.

Final judgments on “Rain Down”

By the way, final judgement is however good: OG Parker’s debut track is strong enough to be on the top charts for many months from here to the end of the summer. Also important to remember that the song was first previewed in a different way, with the presences of Chris Brown, PnB Rock and A Boogie wit da Hoodie (replaced by Layton Greene for unknown reasons). After years of work behind the scenes, OG Parker is now ready to become one of the most appreciated producers of the country. Age is by his side, but only time will tell the truth.
