EDM producer Mura Masa taps Pa Salieu, Skillibeng, and Kali Uchis for the “blessing me (remix).” The alternative-rap track dives into Skillibeng’s dance hall influences and utilizes Kali Uchis’ vocals.
Blending Genres on “blessing me”
The “blessing me (remix)” track comes off Mura Masa’s upcoming album, demon time. The project is set to release September 16th, and includes his previous singles of “2gether” and “bbycakes.” His newest track is a blend of alt-rap, dance, EDM, and afrobeats. Pa Salieu, British rapper and singer, complements Kali Uchis on the song’s chorus. They sing, “Baby, how you move so dangerously / Don’t you know, don’t you know you a dangerous b?”
Skillibeng’s Addition
Skillibeng adds a sultry verse to “blessing me (remix),” influenced heavily by his Jamaican dancehall roots. The track benefits greatly from his feature, as it sets the tone for a fun, flirty track. Skillibeng has recently collaborated with Fivio Foreign, French Montana, Shenseea and many other rap artists. His dancehall productions are rapidly gaining popularity within the rap genre.
