Megan Thee Stallion joins BTS on “Butter”

A collaboration as smooth as butter

BTS during shoot for Billboard Magazine

‘Houston’s finest in the room with bosses’ sings 26-year-old rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Megan joins none other than K-Pop group BTS to remix their hit single “Butter.”  The track, which had the biggest Spotify debut in history and has the 2021 record for longest-running #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, is a collaboration with some of the biggest names right now.  With BTS already creating an absolute HIT, Megan is sure to only make it even hotter with her charismatic flow and unclockable lyrics.

Megan’s Record Label created difficulty with the release

However, what wasn’t smooth like butter was the release of the remixed song.  Because of Megan’s record label out of Houston, 1501 Certified Entertainment, the release had some challenges.  The ‘Butter Remix’ brought the record label and its CEO, Carl Crawford, to court after they tried to stop Megan from putting out the song.  Consequently, Megan stressed how important it was to be able to reach a broader international audience with the ‘Butter Remix’ collaboration. “If Megan is prohibited from releasing the feature track this Friday, her music career will suffer irreparable damage…” court documents from the hearing stated.  Regardless, if irreparable damage would happen that isn’t the point.  An artistic powerhouse like Megan Thee Stallion should be able to create when and how she wants.

Thee Hotties and ARMY showed up for their favs

This incident is not the first time her label has tried to stop her release. Despite this, Megan with BTS is a force to be reckoned with.  Thee Hotties and ARMY will surely make this collab worth the fight.  With a combined total of 42 Billboard Hot 100 entries between the two artists, fans love supporting the two.  Hence the raising of over $100,000 dollars in Megan’s name after the difficulty with releasing her remix of “Butter.” Black Women for Wellness, Women for Afghan Women, and The Houston Food Bank will receive the collected money
