Maren Morris Drives in “Circles Around This Town”

Country star Maren Morris is ready to kick off her new era. She released her new single “Circles Around This Town,” serving as the lead single for her upcoming album Humble Quest.

Humble Quest is on the Way!

Maren recently shared the big news that the follow-up to 2019’s GIRL is on the way and coming very soon. Her upcoming third studio album, Humble Quest, is set for release on March 25. To celebrate, she released the lead single off the album, “Circles Around This Town.”

In “Circles Around This Town,” Maren reflects on how crazy life is, and the ups and downs that come with it. She is honest in the lyrics and shares her experiences, revealed in the verses like “I swear I don’t know how I trusted. A Montero with the AC busted. A couple bad demos on a burned CD. Would take me all the way to Tennessee. I showed up to the new apartment. First month’s, last month’s, two deposits. Hadn’t heard the sound of a door slam yet. Thank god I was an optimist.”

Maren Gets Personal on “Circles Around This Town”

“‘Circles Around This Town’ is special because it’s probably the most specifically autobiographical song I’ve ever written,” Maren Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily. “All the songs that I write are about my story, but this one was very specific to my journey from Texas to Nashville nine years ago to become a songwriter, which then led to me becoming the artist that I am today.”

She continued, “I was not good at Zoom co-writing, I sucked at it,” she said. “I really need to just be in the room with people. So when we wrote ‘Circles Around This Town,’ I was writing in person, safely with my husband, Ryan, and Julia Michaels and our friend Jimmy Robbins, who I wrote ‘The Bones’ with. I brought that title in and Julia was the one, I think, to sort of prompt me to get really specific with the narrative of that first verse and it was our first time and only time writing.”
