Lil Durk And Kid Cudi Put Their Heart On The Line In ‘Guitar In My Room’

“Guitar In My Room”

On September 29, Lil Durk and Kid Cudi teamed up for their first collaboration “Guitar In My Room.” The somber duet marks the second single from Lyrical Lemonade’s first compilation album coming soon. The melodic rap duo spits romantic odes to their love interests over a spacey guitar. The breezy instrumental sees a vulnerable Lil Durk dig into his rocky past in the trenches and plead for his partner’s acceptance. “Don’t judge me off my past life, nah, I want you to believe / All type of girls be on my line, but I ain’t chasin’ them though / We always around our friends, let’s take vacations alone.” Durk raps about attending funerals before he ever went to prom and growing up with little food in his house. The rapper loves his partner at her core and vows to protect her on “Guitar In My Room.”

As for the Man On The Moon, otherwise known as Kid Cudi, he is the star that never fails to brighten his lover’s world. “Hmm, who we are, tell your girlfriends that I’m your star / Caught you in a dream, I hit you with that sauce / If we ain’t at the moon, know baby won’t fall.” Despite gravity, Cudi will not let her go down. Cudi’s partner does not have to fear relationship hurdles or him leaving when things get tough. “Keep it low, baby, I’m not leavin’ / Soakin’ up the glory days slow / If there’s problems, I solve them, no lie,” he sing-raps on “Guitar In My Room.”

Lyrical Lemonade’s Compilation Album

The first official compilation album from Lyrical Lemonade and founder Cole Bennett is expected for a fall 2023 release. The first single, “Doomsday,” from the forthcoming LP, is a posthumous song from the late musician Juice WRLD. It features rapper Cordae, and both artists have been longtime collaborators and friends of Lyrical Lemonade. Three months later, the second single arrived from the Lyrical Lemonade compilation album, titled “Guitar In My Room.” Cole Bennett directs the music video depicting the rappers on stage with a yellow backdrop and multiplying Kid Cudis.
