Rising pop-rock singer-songwriter Lauran Hibberd released her newest single “I’m Insecure,” after May’s “Step Mum.”
Lauran Reveals Her Struggles on “I’m Insecure”
Lauran has been sharing a lot of new music lately. This year alone, she kicked off the year by delivering “Still Running (5K);” which was quickly followed by “Step Mum.” Now, less than a month after that release, she’s back already with “I’m Insecure.”
If there’s one thing we know about Lauran’s music, is that is always honest and not afraid to hold back. “I’m Insecure” is not any different, as, in the song, she accepts that she’s not perfect, and that there are a lot of things that she is sometimes hesitant about, just like any other human being.
“You know when you are so insecure but also sure enough of yourself to attempt to rap-yeah, me neither,” Lauran explains. “This song was such a turning point for me writing-wise, it solidified the album for me early on. It’s a track about being stuck in your own head, I’ve struggled a lot mentally being a very small pawn on the very big chess board that is the music industry and I think this is the most honest I’ve ever been about it in a track. Saying that, writing it has helped me jump right out of the fish bowl, now I feel more confident and am having more fun than ever.”
New Album + New Tour Coming This Fall
It turns out that there is a very good reason why Lauran has been sharing plenty of singles. All the ones mentioned above will be part of her debut album Garageband Superstar, set for release on August 19. We can’t wait to see what else she has been working on!
Additionally, she recently announced that she will be touring the UK this September, in support of her debut album. The tour will be very exclusive, so check out the dates and more information down below!
