Host to some of pop music’s biggest acts since its founding in 1966, Saratoga Performing Arts Center consistently attracts some of its biggest crowds for its summer festivities. On top of the Saratoga Jazz Festival, sadly already having checked off its 2025 edition, hosting a yearly residency for the Philadelphia Orchestra remains a massive draw, now unveiling their shared schedule for the upcoming session.
Jon Batiste And Laufey The Biggest Acts At Saratoga Performing Arts Center
The orchestra’s three week residency begins on August 6th. To be sure, nights where the outfit showcases its home genre with spotlights on conductor Teddy Abrams, Violinists Randall Goosby, or cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason are plenty notable, and uphold the spirit that the SPAC program began with.
However, for more casual listeners or those who aren’t as fluent in classical music, it’s some of the out-of-the-box spectacles that’ll take the headlines. Laufey’s inclusion on the schedule demonstrates that, continuing her “A Night At The Symphony” series that birthed a 2023 live album in Iceland and a 2024 concert film in Los Angeles.

For those with different preferences, Jon Batiste makes his first appearance at SPAC with the Philadelphia Orchestra, having made an appearance at the Jazz Festival in 2018. Though scheduled as the replacement for Cynthia Erivo, his appearance is a rather serendipitous for the composer, given the chance to perform from his upcoming LP “Big Money” on the very day it’ll hit streaming and shelves.
Finally, in perhaps the most unexpected endeavor, SPAC and the Philadelphia Orchestra will live score films once again, bringing the mixed media hybrid out for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and for the 40th anniversary celebration of Back to the Future.
Tickets for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Philadelphia Orchestra Season are available now via the venue’s website. Again, the events slate spans from August 6th to August 23rd.
