KennyHoopla Drops New Song “Hollywood Sucks”

Friendships, Collaborations, & Even More Music

The newest pioneer of punk, Kennyhoopla is back again to tell us how he feels about Los Angeles. Last week the singer-songwriter dropped a new single, along with a video, for his song “Hollywood Sucks.” That probably tells you everything right there about his thoughts on LA.

As we expected, Kennyhoopla is keeping that same 2000s grunge punk sound that he is becoming known for. From the video to the lyrics, “Hollywood Sucks” is a reminder of the rebellious style that comes with the genre. It also shows that Kenny is iconic, punk, and surely not just a one hit wonder.

The fast paced guitar melodies and Kennyhoopla’s voice replicates the likes of Blink-182 even more than the last time we heard the rocker. This is only the second time we’ve seen the young star collaborate with one of the best drummers of our time. Both releases they have together are fantastic – again, as expected.

Back in 2020 Travis Barker joined forces with Kennyhoopla for the song “Estella.” Now the former Blink-182 member and Godfather of Punk is back yet again for this Kenny single.

The fact that Travis Barker is staying by his side must mean they have some pretty special stuff in store. More importantly, this means that Travis possibly thinks the future of punk is in Kennyhoopla’s art.

Is Kennyhoopla The Future Of Punk?

With his main start being in 2016, KennyHoopla was first known to most as an emo rapper that would dabble in rock. Similar to Playboy Carti or Lil Uzi Vert, Kenny envisioned making a path in the industry through emo rap. That was, until landing the alternative rock hit that would change his life and create his own path.

In 2020, KennyHoopla released the single “How Will I Rest in Peace if I’m Buried by a Highway?.” This track quickly became his most popular song to date. It garnered praise for its unique post-punk and new wave inspired sound. The track also received radio play on alternative music stations, even peaking at eight on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.

Eventually, later on in 2020, the full EP dropped. Titled how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?// , it also included hits like “plastic door//.”

Ever since, Kenny has been blowing up. We hope to see some new music coming from him and Travis soon so be sure to check back on musicdaily.app for more updates.
