Jesse & Joy to Appear at This Year’s MusiCares “Music on a Mission” Concert

MusiCares is gearing up for their star-studded virtual GRAMMY Week fundraiser, Music On A Mission. This year, the event will be a tribute to the humans behind the music; many of whom have been out of work and struggling during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Music On A Mission takes the place of the usual Person of the Year gala. It will feature performances from BTS, HAIM, H.E.R., Jhené Aiko, and John Legend. Alongside these amazing artists that will be performing, there will also be special appearances by Jesse & Joy. The event will be accessible to the public. General admission tickets cost $25.00 which was the initial parking fee at the Person of the Year Gala. 

About Jesse & Joy

Jesse & Joy is a pop music duo from Mexico, formed in 2005 by siblings Jesse and Joy Huerta Uecke. The duo have released five studio albums, a live album, and an EP on Warner Music Latina. They’ve also toured internationally and won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Album and six Latin Grammy Awards in various categories.

They released their debut album Esta es mi Vida in 2006 through Warner Music Mexico. Their first single, ‘Espacio sideral,’ earned a gold record by the Mexican Association of Producers of Phonograms and Videograms.

In 2008, the duo released the EP Esto es lo que Soy with hit singles ‘Espacio sideral,’ ‘Ya no Quiero,’ ‘Volveré,’ ‘Llegaste tú’, and ‘Esto es lo que soy.’ In 2009, they released their second studio album, Electricidad. The album was rated a gold record and included the singles ‘Adiós’ and ‘Chocolate.’

They’ve Toured the United States

Their third studio album, ¿Con Quién se Queda el Perro? was released in 2011. The album was certified platinum twice, and included the singles ‘Me Voy,’ ‘¡Corre!’ and ‘La de la Mala Suerte’. It received six Latin Grammy Awards and five nominations; as well as the first Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.

At the end of 2015, the duo released their fourth studio album entitled Un Besito Más. It made it to one on the Latin Albums chart. The album took them on tour in the United States, Latin America, and Spain. It included the song ‘Un Besito Más,’ a song they wrote after the death of their father. Un Besito Más obtained four Latin Grammy nominations in the categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Contemporary Pop Album.
