NCT’s Jaehyun has just dropped his latest solo single, “Horizon,” as part of the NCT LAB project.
Jaehyun’s “Horizon”
NCTzens, be prepared to swoon once again. Jaehyun’s newest song, “Horizon,” is bouncy, breezy, and relaxing. It comes almost a year after his first NCT LAB single, “Forever Only.”
Lucy Ford reports that, in an interview with NME, Jaehyun spoke about how “Horizon” came to be. When writing, he “thought of horizontal moments, like when views are really calm and peaceful.” Jaehyun says, “The day that I mostly thought about while writing the song was a day that was really cloudy and gloomy. I was on a schedule to another place, so I rode an airplane and once I went up beyond the clouds, it was really calm and bright. And at that moment I thought that, even at the same time or in the same place, how you think is the easiest but biggest change you can make to feel different.”
According to Ford, Jaehyun started composing the song on his birthday, February 14th. “It was really sunny outside, so we had very positive thoughts in our head, and I think that’s why the mood and the vibe and the sound came out really bright and happy.”
The music video only adds to the bright R&B song. Aesthetic locales paired with Jaehyun’s stunning visuals make the video a viewing pleasure. The Kpop idol’s smile makes several appearances in the video, and each appearance further proves that his smile is infectious.
Upcoming NCT LAB Singles
“Horizon” is only the second of NCT LAB singles to come out of 2023. The NCT LAB schedule has three more singles slated for this year. NCTzens will hear from Taeil, Haechan, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun, and Chenle before the year is over.
