Is Hilary Duff Making a Return to Music?

Hilary Duff revealed she wants to start making music again. Her last album was 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out.

Hilary Wants to Stay Authentic to Herself

While speaking with Cosmopolitan, The How I Met Your Father star has revealed she really wants to go back into the studio and start working on new music again, but that she doesn’t think she’s ready yet.

Before she takes that huge step, Hilary wants to make sure that she knows what route she wants to take and stay authentic to herself. She said, “I’m not working on music right now but I have been talking to my husband about getting into the studio and starting to stretch the muscles a little bit.”

She continued, “I really want to, but I need time to figure out what I’m saying, what kind of record I’m making, and who it’s for. But, yes, I want to. You know how annoying it is to go to a concert, and they don’t play the hits? I want to serve people what they want, but I also want it to be authentic to who I am now, and that’s very complicated.”

Will She Make a Return Soon?

Before Hilary’s last album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., she had also taken a big break in music. The album arrived as the follow-up to 2007’s Dignity, so that was an 8-year-gap in between albums! Maybe next year will be the year she makes her return since it’ll be the 8th anniversary of her last album? Only time will tell! (But we sure hope so.)

Hilary hasn’t stayed fully quiet in the music scene since then, though. In 2020, she joined forces with her husband, DJ Matthew Koma, and RAC, for the dance-pop anthem “Never Let You Go.” Additionally, she covered Fleetwood Mac’s 1987 hit “Little Lies” in 2016 for the promotion of the second season of the tv show she was starring in at the time, Younger.

Do you hope Hilary returns to the music scene soon? Tell us in the comments!
