Overcoats’ New Album “Winner” Displays Talent and Growth

Indie-folk and electropop sensation Overcoats return with their highly anticipated third album, “Winner”.


Overcoats is a dynamic duo comprised of Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell. They’ve been capturing hearts and ears since their debut album Young in 2017. The two artists bonded over their shared love of music at Wesleyan University. Elion and Mitchell found themselves forming a unique musical partnership and friendship that they described as an “epiphany.” Their second release, “The Fight,” from 2020, demonstrated their continued growth as artists. It tackled themes of resilience and empowerment. Now, Overcoats is back with their highly anticipated third album, Winner, further cementing their place in the indie-folk and electropop scenes.

Overcoats’ musical style is a fusion of indie-folk and electropop.  Their influences range greatly and include the likes of Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkle, The Chicks, and Kasey Musgraves.
