Indie Artists I am Grateful For

Here is a list of Indie artists I am grateful for this Thanksgiving.

I am Grateful for Indie artist, Clairo this Thanksgiving

I am grateful for Clairo, a pop indie artist because she produces very chill lo-fi music that calms me down. Especially, when school work becomes more stressful. Her 2019 album, Immunity has a lot of songs with mellow sounds that can be relaxing for studying.

Phoebe Bridgers

Emo indie artist, Phoebe writes beautiful music that can be good for a down day. That is, if one prefers to listen to sad music while they’re down. Otherwise, you may want to save her for a better day. One of my favorite songs on her album, Punisher is “Savior Complex.” The softness in her voice adds to the breathtaking sadness of this track, which I am so grateful for.

Forever Grateful for Indie-Pop Lorde

To me, Lorde has always been a very unique indie artist that I’m grateful for. She was only 16 years old when she released her debut album, Pure Heroin which is quite impressive on its own. Besides that, this album consists of sounds and lyrics that didn’t sound similar to anything I listened to prior to this album. One reason is because hardly any of the tracks appear to be about romance. That seems rare for an artist, especially for one at such a young age. It didn’t take long for her to grow in popularity, but that didn’t change the fact that her content wasn’t mainstream.

Kali Uchis

I have enjoyed Kali’s music since I was a freshman in college three years ago. Her voice is so distinct and she embraces her Colombian roots which is very inspiring. While she has always produced songs in both English and Spanish, a year ago she released her first entirely Spanish album, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios). I think it’s great she did that because the Latinx community may now feel more represented in the music industry. Aside from all of this, her music is great for getting ready to go out.
