Iayze Drops New Album ‘Reverence’

At only 19, Iayze, pronounced Jace, dropped his third studio album on March 7th. The album, titled Reverence, follows the release of his two studio albums, Virtuous and Monarch 2. You can tell how ambitious the kid is based on his drops!

Iayze was born Jace Lavoer Salter in Fort Worth, Texas. He had been making music since the age of 13, and began to release multiple mixtapes in 2021. That year, his single C’mere! began to take off. It was streamed more than 500,000 times after only being released for a few weeks. In 2022, he especially went viral with his track ‘556 (Green Tip)’ on TikTok. This song put his name on the map more and gave him extra traction, while also serving as the lead single for his debut studio album Virtuous

According to Genius, Iayze claims that some of his biggest inspirations are Chief Keef, FBG Duck, Duwap Kane, and Summrs, who is also one of his close friends and a feature on his album Virtuous. He is also a teenage father and has had a rough upbringing. Some of his music communicates this.

In the song “Second Chances” from his new album, he starts the song with the hook “Demons need second chances.” Referring to himself as the demon, he talks about how his fans and God push him every day to keep going. He additionally speaks on having a child at a young age in many of his songs

Iayze’s versatility is one of his best artistic qualities. He can get someone nodding their head, and also get someone in their thoughts. Some tracks are sad, some are upbeat, some bring more of a trap music vibe, some even give a Yëat vibe. To see what I mean, you can listen to his album here:
