English pop singer GRACEY just gave the classic song by The Pretenders, “2000 miles,” her own touch; getting into the Christmas spirit just in time before the holidays.
GRACEY’s Take on “2000 Miles” Shows She’s Ready For Christmas
The classic take on “2000 miles” by The Pretenders has a rock style. Taking a completely different route, GRACEY opted to make the song her own and sang it out as a soothing ballad. Her vocals, combined with the calming sound of a piano in the background, make this the perfect song to play while having a Christmas dinner with your loved ones.
“2000 Miles is a family favorite in my household,” GRACEY shares. “It always reminds me of my dad when I hear it as he was the first to play it to me,” she explains. “After posting a cover of it towards the end of the holidays last year, I decided I wanted to dive into reworking and releasing it properly for Christmas 2021. It was so wicked to make as I could just dive into the production and try out loads of different ideas. I always say the voice is my favorite instrument; so almost the entire track is built from the voice, with a bass and synth weaving in and out occasionally! I hope it’ll get everyone in the Christmas spirit this year, from my household to yours.”
She Just Released Her Latest EP “Fragile”
It’s clear that for GRACEY, Christmas is a very important time of the year. The cover of “2000 miles” actually arrives in the heels of her latest EP, Fragile. Released just in mid-October, the 4-song project included hits such as “What A Waste,” and “Can’t Be Friends.” Earlier this year, she also shared the dance-pop banger “Got You Covered.”
“It means so much to finally have this body of work out in the world and to share it with you guys. It was written in my most vulnerable state and I hope it can help guide you through yours. Take a listen and let me know what your favorite track is! Big love,” she shared on Instagram to celebrate the EP release at the time.
