This week, we are featuring rising indie pop artist Ella Jane, who just embarked on her first headlining tour.
Who is Ella Jane?
If you’re into artists like Tove Lo, Ingrid Michaelson, and Taylor Swift, you should give Ella Jane a listen. The rising 20-year-old indie pop singer-songwriter just started her music career in 2020, but she’s already stolen the heart of many.
Ella’s debut single “The City” was a great first teaser to showcase what she has to offer. Nevertheless, it was its follow-up, “nothing else i could do” was the song that really put her out in the limelight. On Spotify, it currently amasses 30 million streams, which just get bigger and bigger as time goes by.
In this short amount of time, Ella has managed to release two projects – THIS IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!, her debut EP, in 2021, and Marginilia, her debut album, in 2022. She loves to write new music, and that stays clear in every single one of her songs. All of them show her essence – as an artist, and as an individual.
Even though Marginilia just came out in October, Ella has stayed busy. In December, she recruited fellow rising artist Charlie Hickey for a remix of her song “Sore Loser,” making it an outstanding duet. Charlie’s vocals add something new to the song, making it sound more real and relatable to its audience.
She’s Currently on Her First Headlining Tour
Most importantly, Ella is currently on the second leg of her first headlining tour. The Marginilia tour first kicked off back in October, lining up with the album release date. It then concluded a month later in San Diego, traveling across 16 cities in the United States and Canada. But she had a few more surprises up her sleeve. In January, she announced that she would continue the tour in 12 more cities, making up for the ones that she didn’t get to visit on the first leg of the tour.
The second leg of the Marginilia tour started on February 7th, and it will conclude tomorrow, February 25th. Nevertheless, she will also be performing at this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival on June 9. So, if you want to see her perform and will be around New York City this summer, this is your chance to see her live! You can find ticket information at governorsball.com
