Drake’s “Circo Loco” Diss Toward Megan Thee Stallion

Drake Is In Hot Water For “Circo Loco”

Drake disses Megan Thee Stallion in track “Circo Loco” off of his newest collaboration project Her Loss, with 21 Savage. 21 Savage and Drake’s collaboration album Her Loss, has completely taken social media by storm. Since its November 4 release, Drake has been in hot water for his subliminal disses he took on Her Loss. Allegedly, he takes subliminal shots toward Megan Thee Stallion, DRAM, Ice Spice, Kanye West and Alexis Ohanian. Especially, people are furious about his diss toward Megan, because his words have serious consequences.

Diss Toward Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is in a legal battle currently with Tory Lanez. She accused Lanez of shooting her in the foot in the summer of 2020. Trolls flood her comments claiming she is lying about the incident. In response, she posted a photo of the gunshot wound in her foot. “Why would I lie about getting shot?” she writes.

Since then, people continue to harass, bully, invalidate, and accuse her of lying. Rapper DaBaby and former collaborator of Thee Stallion, featured on a Tory Lanez song and invited him on stage to perform at Rolling Loud last year. DaBaby continues to taunt her and run with the narrative that she is lying. People constantly disrespect black women like Megan Thee Stallion, and this is a common theme, especially in rap culture. And “Circo Loco” is another example of this.

Now Drake is the newest male rapper to encourage this harassment, with his latest release, “Circo Loco.” “This bitch lie ’bout gettin’ shots, but she still a stallion / She don’t even get the joke, but she still smilin’,” Drake raps.

Lil Yachty Defends Drake

Apparently, the 36-year-old cannot speak for himself, so Lil Yachty steps in for his friend and collaborator. He took to Instagram live explaining the “Circo Loco” controversy. “It’s about women lying about getting their butt shots…It has nothing to do with Megan…she’s still like fine you know like a stallion,” Yachty states.

However, regardless of Drake’s intention with this line on “Circo Loco,” it perpetuates the ongoing verbal harassment toward Megan Thee Stallion. And he, a 37-year-old in the music business for over a decade, should know that. Society does not allow Megan, a black woman, to be a victim. They masculinize her, invalidate her trauma, and make fun of her.

The line is also ironic, because in “Spin Bout U” off Her Loss, Drake alludes to the overturn of Roe v. Wade. “D***, just turned on the news and seen that men who never got p**** in school / Are makin’ laws about what women can do,” he raps. Drake supports people being able to choose regarding their bodies and carrying children. But, in “Circo Loco,” he bullies a woman, Megan Thee Stallion. The irony, right?
