Actress and singer-songwriter Dove Cameron revealed that she wants to collaborate with rapper Lil Nas X.
Lil Nas X is a Fan of Dove!
Dove shared that the collaboration between the two would be the “gayest crossover ever” – talking about her recent openness about her sexuality. Lil Nas X, for instance, has also been known for being open about his sexuality.
Dove recently released her hit song “Boyfriend,” which quickly became a queer anthem. Lil Nas X, on the other hand, recently released his debut album MONTERO, which included hits like “INDUSTRY BABY, “THATS WHAT I WANT” and “SUN GOES DOWN.”
Well, it turns out, Lil Nas X is actually a big fan of Dove, and she couldn’t believe it when she found out. In conclusion, she really hopes that the two can work together in the future. She told The Sun newspaper, “I had this song called ‘We Belong’ two years ago and he messaged me out of nowhere and said, ‘I love your new song’, and I was like, ‘What? How do you even know who I am?’”
“He’s lovely and very supportive. He’s one of the coolest people in the world. I’m very flattered. I would love to work with Lil Nas X. That would be one of the collaborations of my dreams. It would be the gayest crossover of all time.”
Dove Recently Released a Queer Anthem
The former Disney star ended up releasing “Boyfriend” after a snippet of the song went viral on TikTok. However, she admitted that she didn’t expect to release such a personal song just yet. She explained, “This is definitely not a song I imagined I would be sharing with people. I didn’t know if I was ever going to put it out. So to see the reception both in the US and globally, it’s very strange and an amazing, unexpected feeling.”
