Demi Lovato Has Been “Dancing With The Devil”

Demi Lovato is back with new music. “Dancing With The Devil,” is the lead single for her forthcoming album set to release next week, which shares a title with the new release.

Demi’s New Single and Documentary

“Dancing With The Devil” is the lead single off Demi’s upcoming album Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over, which comes out April 2.  The song was teased for the first time in the YouTube trailer for her new four-part documentary. On it, she details her off-and-on struggle with addiction and the events leading up to her eventual overdose in the summer of 2018. This led Demi to suffer a heart attack, three strokes, and embark on a fight for her life.

Following her overdose, Demi revealed that doctors told her she had five to ten minutes left to live. She portrayed this scary moment in her lyrics. “I was dancing with the devil, out of control. Almost made it to heaven, it was closer than you know.”

In the docuseries, she speaks further about her eventual heroin addiction. “I started using it recreationally, and obviously, you can’t do that with heroin before you become addicted to it.” She seemingly addresses her heroin addiction in the song as she sings, “Tinfoil remedy almost got the best of me.”

Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over will be her first album since 2017, following Tell Me You Love Me. It’s set to include 19 songs, incorporating features from artists such as Ariana Grande, Noah Cyrus, Saweetie, and Sam Fischer on the recently-released “What Other People Say.”

The first two episodes of Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil are available to stream now. A new episode will air every Tuesday in which Demi will continue narrating her path to recovery.
