The country singer has already enjoyed a decades-long career that includes CMA nominations and eight studio albums released. But Cody Johnson’s ninth, Leather, has shaped up to be one of his best, and he’s adding more dates to its supporting tour.
At least in its early goings, the Leather Tour is decidedly West-and-South-facing. The country singer kicked things off with a January 19th date at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, and the following two dates kept it in CA for Anaheim and San Diego concerts. The bulk of the dates span from January to March, taking Johnson through Glendale, Nashville, Wichita, Jacksonville and Birmingham. Also announced alongside the Leather Tour, Cody Johnson will be a part of the lineup for both Florida’s Gulf Coast Jam and Ohio’s The Country Fest, both taking place in June 2024. In official materials, the singer noted that this was only the “first leg” of shows he’ll be doing in support of Leather.

Leather Projects is One of Johnson’s Most Personal Records Yet
On the music side, Johnson has released his album Leather. Before its release, he shared four song titles that would be on the project: “That’s Texas,” “Work Boots,” “Watching My Old Flame” and “The Painter.” Expectedly, given those titles, it seemed that the album would focus on two distinct lanes, a more romantic one where the singer gets the chance to flex his artistic muscles, and traditional genre fare that’ll ostensibly play to the sensibilities of country radio. Per CMT, Cody Johnson shared, “This round of songs, I have to say, is the best round of songs I have ever recorded, and I feel like that’s the way it should be.” He said, “Each album should outdo the last one.” Fans who have since listened to Leather since its release can confirm his wish has come true.
