Calvin Harris has dropped his newest single, “New To You,” with Normani, Tinashe and Offset.
“New To You”
Scottish DJ, producer, and songwriter Calvin Harris has just released his latest single “New To You,” for which he collaborated with Normani, Tinashe and Offset. Aside from lending their voices to the song, the trio also took part in the songwriting of “New To You.”
Normani opens the song with the chorus, singing, “This might be news to you / this things might feel new to you / but if you like everything / I think you might love me, baby.” Tinashe then slides in with the first verse, giving listeners a little bit of edge in the beginning of her verse before smoothing and softening her voice. When it comes to the second verse, Offset jumps in with words of instant attraction and infatuation.
The song overall is a slow, smooth 70’s disco combined with classic orchestral instruments. The glittery, dreamy vibe of the instrumentals and mixing gives “New To You” that pretty, cinematic feel. Check out the official audio from Calvin Harris’ YouTube below!
Calvin Harris’ ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2’
“New To You” is the fourth single off of Calvin Harris’ upcoming album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2. The artist has been steadily dropping songs over the past few months. He’s been giving his fans single after single to hype them up for Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2.
Harris released his first single, “Potion,” with Dua Lipa and Yung Thug, back in late May. On July 1st, he dropped the official audio for the second single, “New Money,” which featured 21 Savage. Finally, a few weeks ago, on July 15th, the producer released his album’s third single, “Stay With Me,” with Justin Timberlake, Halsey and Pharrell. Now, only a week before his album comes out, Calvin Harris has added “New To You” to the list of singles fans are ready to listen to with Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 on repeat.
