Cade Hoppe’s “Hurts” is Heartbreaking

Cade Hoppe, a 22-year old rising indie pop artist, recently released “Hurts,” his latest single. “Hurts” is a buoyant track with notes of nostalgia and longing, made complete by his warm, resonant vocals. Cade Hoppe moved from Sacramento, California to New York to pursue his passion for music. And good thing, because we at Music Daily are all in on Hoppe – which is why he is part of our MD Discoveries!

“Hurts” is A Must-Listen

If you’ve never listened to Cade Hoppe, here’s a rundown: his dream-pop, indie-based music stirs up emotions like no other. His lyricism, soft yet poignant vocals, and trembling backbeat make “Hurts” an absolute must-listen. The track is vulnerable, heartbreaking, and fun; it’s something to listen to on a late night drive or alone in your room. Of the track, Cade Hoppe writes, it’s “about experiencing that strange post-relationship purgatory for the first time and realizing that anyone you love is going to hurt to lose, whether you were both meant to be or not. The thesis of this song is: ‘It’s not easy losing somebody, it always hurts.’ I think we all have to learn that lesson at some point in our lives and this song is about when I learned it for myself.”

Consistently Beautiful Music

If you love “Hurts” like we do, check out Cade Hoppe’s EP, “Tell Me How It’s Worth It.” Hoppe’s music makes it obvious that he is an absolute star in the making. His music is consistently heartbreaking and so beautiful. “Hurts” compels you to feel as he does, to relate to his feelings of loss and love.
