K-Pop boyband BTS is back with their second English single “Butter,” following up to “Dynamite.”
BTS is Taking Over The World
As we know, BTS is the biggest boyband worldwide currently. Not only have they broken all kinds of records, but they sing, dance, perform and even rap. On top of that, they’re bilingual, too! After getting immense success from their first-ever English single “Dynamite” back in August of last year, they now released its follow-up, “Butter.”
“Butter” aligns with the fun and upbeat sound of “Dynamite.” They’re both are said to be featured on the band’s first-ever English album, so it makes perfect sense that both songs follow the same danceable style.
The Boys Speak About “Butter”
“If you hear the title, ‘Butter,’ you’ll know immediately that we tried to prepare a song that’s easy to listen to, instead of having a heavy or profound message. This is a little bit embarrassing, but a song that’s smooth like butter [laughs]. A song that sort of melts into you and grabs hold of you. It’s a very cute song, sort of a confession. I think you can think of it that way. Like butter, it’s cute, a little bit charismatic. We’ve tried to put imbue all of these feelings into the song,” Jimin explained at the BTS Global Press Conference.
At the same time, RM told MTV Australia, “When we first encountered this song ‘Butter’ was selected among many, many songs. It was already from the guide very complete. We wanted to participate, but it was already very good. For some parts—the rap parts–it wasn’t fully compatible with our style. So I think that’s what inspired us to participate [RM worked on half of the rap sections from what was originally there]. I didn’t participate just because I speak English. I was lucky to be able to participate in making this song.”
