Thanks to a partnership made between entertainment company Hybe Corporation and streaming service Disney+, fans will get to see exclusive BTS content over the next year. According to Patrick Brzeski at The Hollywood Reporter, Hybe and Disney will collaborate on five titles for Disney’s streaming services. Three of those titles will feature either all BTS members or only some. However, it has not been announced as to what the other two titles will be about, or who of Hybe’s artists will be featured.

Aside from IN THE SOOP: Friendcation, the other BTS titles are:

  • BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA: A 4K concert film of the group’s live performance at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium from back in November of 2021. This concert means a lot to both BTS and ARMY. It was the first in-person concert the Kpop idols held since COVID-19 began.
  • BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star: A docuseries following BTS’ journey from small-label artists to global megastars. The show will include music and footage from the past nine years since the boys’ debut in 2013. It will also feature thoughts and words from the BTS of today as they figure out what the next step in their careers is. BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star will be released in 2023.

IN THE SOOP: Friendcation is a Hybe-original travel reality tv show. It’s a spin-off of IN THE SOOP, the show that both BTS and SEVENTEEN have already appeared on. IN THE SOOP is a chance for celebrities to relax and enjoy themselves. IN THE SOOP: Friendcation follows BTS’ V, Park Seojoon, Choi Wooshik, Park Hyungsik, and Peakboy on their four days and three nights outing together.

V, Seojoon, and Hyungsik all starred in the popular Kdrama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. Seojoon first introduced fellow actor Wooshik to the forming friend group. V then introduced Korean rapper and producer Peakboy, and the rest is history. The Wooga squad, an inside joke that evolved into what fans now call them, go on a fun, leisurely winter trip.

Through teasers for the show, the boys can be seen going to the beach, ice skating, and sitting around a campfire. They clearly enjoyed their time on the small vacation, and fans can’t wait to watch the show.

The first episode of IN THE SOOP: Friendcation dropped July 22nd. Following episodes will be released every Friday.
