New Zealand’s singer-songwriter BENEE released her latest single “Beach Boy,” following on October’s “Doesn’t Matter.”
“Beach Boy” is Pure Fantasy
“Beach Boy” shows the brighter side of BENEE, as the name of the song says, it is a pretty sunny track. In it, the singer shares that she is excited about what’s to come, being able to take breaks and just enjoy life.
“And I hate it, God I hate it when you. Yeah, I hate it, when you talk about me leaving. Don’t wanna think about me leaving. Drive me crazy, but it’s okay. We’re by the ocean, think we need a break. Maybe this ain’t it, but I still want this,” she sings in the second verse.
“‘Beach Boy’ is pure fantasy, set in LA,” BENEE said in a statement. “It’s about being happy alone, but still wanting some love; wanting the thrill without the pain. It was the first time I’d worked with Greg Kurstin, and it was so sick… we got on super well, and I love this track… I think it is perfect for cruising down the freeway with the top down.”
BENEE Announces New EP & World Tour
Along with the new release of “Beach Boy,” BENEE recently announced that she has an upcoming project on the way. The Lychee EP is set for release on March 4, and it will include the previously-released track “Doesn’t Matter” alongside “Beach Boy.” With a total of 7 songs, it will also feature unreleased tunes like “Soft Side” and “Marry Myself.”

Stops of the tour will include major cities like Montreal, Chicago, Washington, and Seattle, before wrapping up the tour on June 30 in Los Angeles.
